Overview And Key Learning Outcomes:

Cosmetic dentistry is now one of the most popular forms of treatment requested by patients and achieving predictable aesthetic results is often difficult to visualise and attain. This presentation will focus on the key areas for efficient aesthetic diagnosis and smile design, which will be demonstrated in a simple step-by-step approach to resolve aesthetic problems and achieve predictable aesthetic results. Diagnostic wax-ups, tooth preparation, provisionalisation, bonding techniques and evaluation of the factors critical to a positive aesthetic outcome will be discussed as well as potential complications. The role of the various ceramic systems will be outlined as well as the importance of good laboratory communication.

Presenter Profile:

Robert qualified in 1987 and had built a referral base for the aesthetic treatment of complex restorative cases involving orthodontic, prosthodontic and implant disciplines. In 2002, Rob became an implant mentor for a dental corporate group and has taught many dentists on a one to one basis on all aspects of implant therapy. Recently, Rob has opened an implant and restorative referral centre called Pentangle Dental Transformations, in Newbury, Berkshire. This purpose built practice has dedicated implant theatres, CT scanning facilities, live video links for interactive implant training. Rob runs modular courses and lectures widely on prosthodontics, has published several articles on implant techniques and is also a lecturer and mentor for Straumann UK.
